Lead Optical Developer

Location: Bridgewater, NJ

General Description:

The ideal candidate for Lead Optical Developer will have significant experience in optics
development for telecom applications. This role is ideal for someone with extremely strong
optical fundamentals. He/she will be able to spearhead the optical architecture, development
plan, milestones, and deliveries for modules at any technical level. He/she will have experience
working with hardware and software engineers to scope requirements. He/she will be able to
work independently within a team, look for opportunities to make improvements, and be able to
clearly communicate through written and verbal means.

Responsibilities:

• Performing research to promote future generation products.
• Own optical performance and specification in telecom modules.
• Design new product optical architectures
• Develop subsystem, component and interface specifications
• Develop manufacturing and assembly processes to build product
• Track optical issues and and implement solutions in modules.
Qualifications:
• MS degree required, Ph.D. a strong advantage.
• Industry exposure and experience.
• Experience with optical components and test equipment.
• Experience with optical system design tools such as Zemax.
• Experience with testing automation and data analysis tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to plan and prioritize activities, perform and monitor multiple overlapping
tasks/operations to meet schedule
